Kwakye Ofosu Raises Concerns Over GBC Land Acquisition, Vows Action On Compensation

Minister of State for Government Communications and government spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has revealed that about five acres of land belonging to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) were acquired by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) under the previous administration.

He said the acquisition was done through an informal arrangement, with assurances that compensation would be paid to GBC.

However, he noted that the compensation issue remains unresolved.

Mr Kwakye Ofosu made the disclosure in response to concerns over alleged encroachment on state-owned lands belonging to the national broadcaster.

He indicated that he intends to raise the matter in Parliament to ensure that GBC receives the compensation due to it, stressing the need for accountability in the management of public assets.

The Minister further emphasised the importance of protecting state property and ensuring that due processes are followed in all land transactions involving public institutions.
