Diaspora Ghanaian Donates Protective Gear To Support Anti-illegal Mining Operations


The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has received a donation of 30 protective fragmentation jackets to support the work of the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAiMOS).

The donation was made by Mr. Shaibu Abdel Razak, a Ghanaian resident in Kentucky, United States, as part of efforts to strengthen the country's fight against illegal mining and protect the environment.

Receiving the items, Mr. Buah commended the donor for the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of the important role Ghanaians both at home and abroad can play in supporting national development initiatives.

He noted that the contribution aligns with the government's efforts to promote environmental sustainability and responsible management of the country's natural resources.

According to the Minister, the protective equipment will enhance the safety and operational readiness of NAiMOS personnel who are at the forefront of efforts to combat illegal mining activities and protect Ghana's water bodies and forest reserves.

Mr. Buah expressed appreciation to Mr. Razak on behalf of the government and people of Ghana, stating that the donation reflects a strong sense of patriotism and commitment to the country's environmental protection agenda.
