Parliamentary Select Committee On Education Visits Ghana Scholarship Authority

The Parliamentary Select Committee on Education has paid a working visit to the Ghana Scholarship Authority as part of efforts to assess the institution’s operations and ongoing reforms in scholarship administration.

The visit provided the Committee with an opportunity to engage management of the Authority on measures being implemented to improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the award and management of scholarships in Ghana.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Alex Asafo Adjei used the engagement to present ongoing reforms aimed at transforming scholarship administration in line with the country’s broader human capital development agenda.

He reaffirmed the Authority's commitment to ensuring that scholarship opportunities are managed in a transparent and accountable manner, stressing that these principles remain central to the Authority’s operations.

The Authority welcomed the Committee’s oversight role, noting that parliamentary scrutiny strengthens institutional performance and public confidence in the scholarship system.

According to management, the engagement also provided a platform to address key questions from lawmakers and to demonstrate progress made in streamlining processes to ensure fairness and merit-based access to scholarships.
