Dr Mustapha Hamid Attends Unveiling Of Masjid Al-Noor In Tamale
Former Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and aspiring National Vice Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mustapha Abdul Hamid, has attended the unveiling of Masjid Al-Noor in Tamale.
The mosque, which was built by former Finance Minister Dr Mohammed Amin Adam (Anta), was officially unveiled in a ceremony that brought together political figures, religious leaders and members of the community.
Speaking at the event, Dr Hamid described Masjid Al-Noor as more than a place of worship, noting that it has been designed to function as a mosque-educational centre.
He expressed optimism about the facility’s long-term vision and encouraged its development into a leading centre of learning.
“What excites me about Masjid Al-Noor is that it is not intended only to serve as a place of worship; it is modelled as a mosque-educational centre,” he said.
Dr Hamid further expressed his willingness to contribute to the growth of the institution, indicating interest in serving as a visiting researcher in the future.
He also urged the governing board to develop the facility along the lines of globally recognised mosque-universities such as Al-Azhar, which combine religious worship with advanced academic scholarship.
