Abuakwa South MP Condemns Kyebi Zongo Shooting Incident
The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Dr Kingsley Agyemang, has condemned the reported shooting incident at Kyebi Zongo, which left a young man injured during a confrontation involving some youth and military personnel.
In a statement issued on Sunday, July 12, 2026, the MP said his office had taken note of a viral video showing the incident, which reportedly occurred on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
He described the development as deeply concerning and condemned all forms of violence and brutality that threaten the safety and well-being of residents in the constituency.
“While the full facts surrounding the incident are yet to be officially established, no community should have to witness such unfortunate scenes,” the MP stated.
The legislator confirmed that the injured individual is receiving medical attention at the Kyebi Government Hospital and expressed his wishes for the victim’s speedy recovery.
He appealed to residents, particularly the youth, to remain calm and exercise restraint while allowing the appropriate state institutions to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The MP further called on the relevant security authorities to conduct a thorough, impartial and transparent investigation to establish the facts and ensure that justice is served.
He assured residents of his commitment to engaging all relevant stakeholders to maintain peace, law and order in Abuakwa South.
