NPP Annuls Constituency Executive Elections In Three Constituencies Over Alleged Violations

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has annulled the purported Constituency Executive Elections held in three constituencies following alleged breaches of party directives, electoral regulations, and, in some cases, existing court orders.

The affected constituencies are Bantama, Afigya Sekyere East, and Adansi Asokwa.

The decision was taken by the party’s National Steering Committee at a meeting held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, where members reviewed the conduct of the constituency executive elections held across the country over the weekend.

In a statement, the NPP said the elections in the affected constituencies were conducted in “flagrant disregard” of the rules and regulations governing the 2026 Constituency Executive Elections.

The party has also summoned the Ashanti Regional Steering Committee to appear before the National Steering Committee on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, to explain the circumstances surrounding the conduct of the elections in the affected constituencies.

Meanwhile, election-related concerns in Asante Akyem Central, as well as other unresolved constituency election disputes, have been referred to the Electoral Affairs Committee of the National Council for review and recommendations.

The NPP assured members that it remains committed to protecting the integrity and credibility of its internal democratic processes by ensuring strict adherence to its Constitution, regulations, and the rule of law.

The party said the measures are aimed at maintaining transparency, fairness, and confidence in its internal elections.
