E/R: Several WBM Zion SHS Students Hospitalised Over Suspected Food Poisoning

Several students of W.B.M. Zion Senior High School at Akyem Old Tafo in the Eastern Region have been rushed to the Akyem Tafo Government Hospital and the Kukurantumi Community Hospital following a suspected food poisoning incident.

The affected students reportedly fell ill after consuming food on campus, although the exact cause of the illness has not yet been established.

Some students suspect the illness may be linked to rice purchased from the school's canteen, while others believe it could have resulted from kenkey served in the school's dining hall.

However, these claims have not been officially confirmed.

School authorities are yet to issue a formal statement on the incident, and the source of the suspected contamination remains under investigation.

Health officials, in collaboration with the management of W.B.M. Zion Senior High School, have launched investigations to determine the cause of the illness and prevent any further cases.

The affected students are receiving medical treatment at the two health facilities, and authorities are hopeful they will make a full and speedy recovery.
