TikToker Arrested Over Alleged Offensive Remarks About President Mahama And First Lady
A TikTok content creator has been arrested by the Ghana Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) over alleged offensive remarks directed at President John Dramani Mahama and First Lady Lordina Mahama.
The suspect, identified as Rita Konadu, popularly known on TikTok as "Mamaone," was arrested at Juaben in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
According to authorities, the 49-year-old is alleged to have published a video on TikTok containing derogatory comments about the President and the First Lady.
The video is currently the subject of an investigation by the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team as officials examine whether any laws were breached.
Sources indicate that arrangements are underway to transfer the suspect to Accra, where she is expected to assist investigators with further inquiries and undergo the necessary legal processes.
