Stephen Amoah Rejects Report Ranking Him Among Ghana’s Underperforming MPs
The Member of Parliament for Nhyeaso, Stephen Amoah, has rejected a report by governance researcher Musa Dankwa that ranks him among Ghana's underperforming Members of Parliament.
Mr. Amoah described the assessment as false and misleading, insisting that his record of service and development in the Nhyeaso Constituency speaks for itself.
According to the lawmaker, evaluating the performance of an MP should not be based solely on the number of infrastructure projects undertaken.
He argued that effective parliamentary representation also involves advocacy, policy formulation, legislative contributions, and championing the interests of constituents at the national level.
Mr. Amoah further questioned the methodology used in compiling the report, suggesting that it did not adequately reflect the realities on the ground.
He urged Musa Dankwa to engage a broader range of stakeholders—including traditional authorities, teachers, community leaders, and residents—before making conclusions about the performance of Members of Parliament.
The Nhyeaso MP called on the governance researcher to review the findings, maintaining that the report does not accurately represent his work and impact in the constituency.
