CSOs Tour Tema Oil Refinery, Commend Progress On Transformation Agenda

Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) operating in Ghana's energy sector have been taken through the ongoing transformation and recovery efforts at the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) during a stakeholder engagement with the refinery's management.

The engagement, held on Thursday, July 23, formed part of TOR's commitment to maintaining regular dialogue with key stakeholders while providing updates on the refinery's progress towards resuming full operations.

Managing Director of TOR, Edmond Kombat, briefed participants on the refinery's recovery programme, highlighting key operational milestones achieved so far and the strategic priorities driving the next phase of the transformation agenda.

He also outlined the refinery's plans to restore operations and strengthen its role in supporting Ghana's energy security and industrial development.

The meeting provided an opportunity for participants to exchange views on the importance of a fully operational refinery to the country's petroleum industry, economic growth and energy independence.

Following the discussions, the CSO representatives were taken on a guided tour of the refinery's operational facilities to observe ongoing activities and developments firsthand.

The visiting organisations commended the progress made by the refinery and welcomed the transparency demonstrated by management in sharing updates on its recovery efforts and future plans.

According to the participants, sustained stakeholder engagement is essential to building public confidence in the refinery's transformation process.
