GAM ID Public Rollout Begins Across The Gambia

The public rollout of GAM ID has officially begun across The Gambia, marking a significant milestone in the country's national identity and digital transformation agenda.
The rollout is expected to make GAM ID registration accessible to citizens across the country, moving the national identity initiative from development into wider public implementation.
According to Margins ID Group, the technical partner for this project, the registration exercise is designed to provide citizens with access to a trusted national identity system that can strengthen their participation in essential services and opportunities.
During the exercise, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Kwesi Baiden said every registration represents progress towards building a more inclusive and connected society, where secure and trusted identification can serve as a foundation for accessing services and participating in everyday economic and social activities.
He described the commencement of the public rollout as the result of sustained dedication, collaboration and commitment among stakeholders involved in bringing the national identity initiative to fruition.
The rollout forms part of The Gambia's broader digital transformation efforts and is expected to contribute to the development of a more connected and digitally enabled society.
With registration now reaching citizens across the country, the GAM ID initiative marks a new phase in The Gambia's identity journey and represents a defining step towards strengthening the country's digital identity infrastructure.
