Vice President Engages Kayayei Association On Livelihood Challenges


Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has received a delegation from the Kayayei Association to discuss the challenges facing head porters and measures to improve their livelihoods.

The delegation was led by the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey.

The engagement focused on the difficulties confronting kayayei, as well as interventions needed to improve their economic and social well-being.

Key areas discussed included skills development, sustainable livelihood opportunities and measures to protect head porters from exploitation.

The meeting also considered broader welfare concerns affecting women and children, with emphasis on initiatives that can provide vulnerable groups with better opportunities and protection.
