PAOG Announces GHS60,000 Fare For 2027 Hajj
The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has announced GHS60,000 as the official fare for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage.
According to PAOG, the fare remains unchanged from the amount approved for the 2026 Hajj.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, the office said payment for the 2027 pilgrimage has commenced and urged prospective pilgrims to begin their registration and payment processes early.
PAOG said registration will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis and will close once Ghana’s allocated quota for the 2027 pilgrimage is exhausted.
The office has directed intending pilgrims to make payments only through approved channels.
These include accredited Hajj agents using the official PAOG payment code or direct payment to PAOG through its official Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) accounts.
PAOG cautioned prospective pilgrims against making payments to unaccredited agents, intermediaries or other unofficial channels, warning that it would not be responsible for payments made outside the approved systems.
Chairman of the PAOG/Ghana Hajj Board, Hon. Alhaji Abdul-Rauf Tanko Ibrahim, urged intending pilgrims to complete their payments and submit the required documentation early to avoid difficulties associated with last-minute arrangements.
He also appealed to prospective pilgrims to exercise caution when dealing with Hajj agents and to verify their accreditation before making any payments.
PAOG said the measures are intended to protect prospective pilgrims from fraud while ensuring a transparent and efficient registration process.
The office further reaffirmed its commitment to building on the gains recorded during the 2026 Hajj and ensuring a safe, orderly and successful pilgrimage for Ghanaian Muslims in 2027.
