Many Feared Dead, Others Injured In Fatal Crash At Ofankor Barrier
A fatal road accident involving a tipper truck and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter bus has occurred at the Ofankor Barrier in Accra on Thursday morning, August 13, 2026.
The crash is reported to have left several passengers feared dead, while others sustained serious injuries.
Assistant Divisional Officer I (ADO I) Alex King Nartey, a member of the Ghana National Fire Service team, confirmed the incident and said personnel from the Service had been deployed to the scene.
According to him, firefighters are currently conducting rescue operations and managing the situation.
Eyewitnesses described the collision as severe, with the impact reportedly causing significant damage to the vehicles involved.
Emergency personnel remain at the scene as rescue efforts continue.
Motorists using the Ofankor Barrier stretch are expected to experience heavy traffic and delays as authorities work to clear the accident scene.
