GIPA CEO Urges Local Energy Firms To Expand Beyond Ghana
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA), Simon Madjie, has called for stronger collaboration to support indigenous Ghanaian businesses to expand beyond the domestic market and compete on the regional and global stage.
Mr Madjie made the call when he engaged the Chief Executive Officer of Petrosol, Michael Bozumbil, to discuss the company’s expansion plans, investment opportunities and potential areas of collaboration.
He commended Petrosol for its resilience, strong corporate governance and commitment to international standards, saying these qualities could provide a strong foundation for the company to compete in regional and international markets.
Mr Madjie stressed the importance of supporting capable Ghanaian businesses to scale their operations, noting that the growth of indigenous companies could contribute significantly to investment, job creation and economic development.
Petrosol, established in 2006 as Petroleum Solutions Limited, has evolved from a petroleum consultancy into an energy company operating fuel stations across Ghana.
The company is also exploring solar installations and other clean-energy solutions as Ghana continues to pursue its energy transition.
The engagement forms part of efforts to strengthen partnerships between GIPA and local businesses while identifying opportunities to support the expansion and internationalisation of Ghanaian enterprises.
