PAOG Disowns Alhaji Papa Angola, Says He Is Not Hajj Board Member


The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has clarified that Alhaji Sibamay Zakaria, popularly known as Alhaji Papa Angola, is not a member of the Ghana Hajj Board and does not represent the office in any official capacity.

In a press release dated Thursday, August 13, 2026, the PAOG Secretariat said reports linking Alhaji Papa Angola to the Hajj Board were inaccurate.

The office urged the public to disregard any claims or reports suggesting that Alhaji Sibamay Zakaria is an official member or representative of the Ghana Hajj Board.

The clarification, according to PAOG, was issued to set the record straight and prevent any misrepresentation of the office or its official representatives.

The PAOG Secretariat reaffirmed that Alhaji Papa Angola has no official role within the Ghana Hajj Board and does not speak on behalf of the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana.
