Youth Ministry, NDPC Review High-impact SDG Targets
The Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, has welcomed a delegation from the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) to review Ghana’s High-Impact Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) targets.
The meeting, held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, focused on key development priorities, particularly the promotion of decent work and employment opportunities for young people under SDG target 8.5.
The engagement is expected to strengthen collaboration between the Ministry and the NDPC while helping to refine strategies, align resources and accelerate Ghana’s progress towards achieving the 2030 Agenda.
According to the Ministry, closer collaboration with the NDPC will ensure that youth empowerment initiatives remain consistent with national development priorities, particularly efforts aimed at strengthening human capital and promoting inclusive economic growth.
Speaking during the engagement, Mr Opare Addo reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for young Ghanaians.
“We remain unwavering in our commitment to equipping young Ghanaians with the skills, opportunities, and support they need to power Ghana’s sustainable future,” he stated.
