Accra-Kumasi Highway Project To Create 30,000 Jobs – Ato Forson
The Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has disclosed that the ongoing construction of the Accra-Kumasi Highway is expected to create about 30,000 direct and indirect jobs for Ghanaians.
According to the Finance Minister, the road project is part of government’s broader investment in infrastructure aimed at improving connectivity while creating economic opportunities for citizens.
He said the investment in the highway would not only improve transportation between Accra and Kumasi but also generate employment and support livelihoods along the corridor.
Dr Ato Forson stressed the importance of investing in road infrastructure, noting that improved connectivity should translate into better economic opportunities and livelihoods for Ghanaians.
“We are investing in roads because better connections should mean better livelihoods for our people,” he said.
The project is expected to support both direct employment through construction activities and indirect jobs across businesses and services linked to the road project.
Government’s focus on road infrastructure forms part of its efforts to stimulate economic activity, improve the movement of people and goods, and create jobs across the country.
