NDC Opens Nominations For 2026 Constituency Executive Elections
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that nominations for its 2026 Constituency Executive Elections will officially open on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
The National Secretariat said the opening of nominations marks the next stage in the party’s internal electoral process, in line with the general timetable previously released.
In a press release dated September 10, 2026, the party encouraged members intending to contest the various constituency executive positions to take advantage of the nomination window and comply with all prescribed requirements.
The press release was signed by Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, Deputy General Secretary, on behalf of the General Secretary.
The NDC said all payments for nomination forms and filing fees must be made strictly through its online portal using mobile money across all networks.
It added that aspirants, proposers, seconders and endorsers must be members in good standing and must have fully paid their party membership dues for the past four years.
Members with outstanding dues have been directed to settle their arrears through the party’s designated payment channels before participating in the nomination process.
The party has also officially opened campaigning for aspirants contesting its 2026 internal elections at the constituency, regional and national levels.
According to the National Secretariat, all aspirants may begin their campaigns, provided they comply with the party’s rules, regulations and directives governing the electoral process.
Regional officers, constituency officers and ward coordinators have consequently been directed to allow campaign activities by eligible aspirants within their respective jurisdictions.
However, the NDC stressed that the campaign window does not apply to individuals pursuing or intending to pursue parliamentary ambitions.
The directive specifically covers sitting Members of Parliament and persons currently considering or publicly expressing an intention to contest parliamentary elections.
The party warned that such persons are not permitted to engage in campaigning activities under the current internal election campaign window and said violations would be dealt with in accordance with its rules and regulations.
The National Secretariat urged all constituencies, aspirants and members to conduct themselves with discipline, decorum and respect for the party’s democratic values throughout the electoral process.
It further called for cooperation among members to ensure that the elections are transparent, peaceful, orderly and successful.
