Farouk Aliu Mahama Supports Medical Student With GH¢10,000 Donation
Former Member of Parliament for Yendi, Dr Farouk Aliu Mahama, has donated GH¢10,000 to support the medical education of Alhassan Zakaria Sugri, a constituent from Gbungbaliga.
Mr Sugri, a Doctor of Medical Laboratory Science graduate, is currently pursuing a Doctor of Medicine programme at All Saints University in the Commonwealth of Dominica.
The donation was made under Dr Mahama’s scholarship initiative, FAMEC-FUND, which supports brilliant students from the Yendi Constituency.
Expressing his gratitude, Mr Sugri thanked the former legislator for helping him secure admission and providing financial support towards his education.
He said his background in medical laboratory practice would complement his medical training and enable him to provide holistic, evidence-based care to patients in Yendi upon completing his studies.
The Concerned Citizens of Yendi commended Dr Mahama for the gesture, describing the support as an investment in education, healthcare and the future of the constituency.
