Black Stars Name 24-man Squad For September International Assignments
Coach of Ghana’s Black Stars, Carlos Queiroz has announced a 24-man squad for their upcoming international assignments between September 24 and October 4, 2026.
The squad includes three goalkeepers, eight defenders, five midfielders and eight forwards.
Among the notable names are Tottenham midfielder Mohammed Kudus, Lyon forward Ernest Nuamah, Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo and Sheffield United striker Jordan Ayew.
The goalkeeping department will comprise Benjamin Asare of Hearts of Oak, Lawrence Ati-Zigi of St. Gallen and Joseph Anang of St. Patrick’s Athletic.
The defenders are Gideon Mensah (FC Köln), Baba Rahman (PAOK), Jan Gyamerah (SV Elversberg), Derrick Luckassen (Red Star Belgrade), Nathaniel Adjei (Lorient), Jerome Opoku (Istanbul Basaksehir), Kojo Oppong Peprah (Fenerbahce) and Alexander Djiku (Spartak Moscow).
The midfield features Kwasi Sibo of Swełły Club, Caleb Yirenkyi (Coventry City), Augustine Boakye (Saint-Étienne), Ronald Donkor (New York Red Bull) and Ibrahim Sulemana (Sassuolo).
The forward line includes Christopher Bonsu Baah (Al Qadishia), Ernest Nuamah (Lyon), Mohammed Kudus (Tottenham), Abdul Fatawu Issahaku (Ipswich Town), Antoine Semenyo (Manchester City), Ibrahim Osman (Brighton), Prince Adu Kwabena (Viktoria Plzen) and Jordan Ayew (Sheffield United).
The Black Stars will begin their campaign with an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Côte d’Ivoire on September 24, 2026.
Ghana will then face The Gambia in another AFCON qualifier on September 29 before rounding off the international window with a friendly against Morocco on October 4.
