Mahama Ayariga Seeks Stronger World Bank Partnership To Improve Urban Services
The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga, has called for stronger collaboration with the World Bank to improve urban infrastructure and service delivery in Ghana.
Mr Ayariga said sustained partnerships with development institutions such as the World Bank would be critical to translating Ghana’s ambitions for sustainable urban development into tangible outcomes for communities.
He disclosed that his engagement with the World Bank explored practical opportunities to strengthen urban infrastructure, improve the delivery of essential services and promote more sustainable cities.
The Minister said the rapid pace of urbanisation required deliberate planning and investment to ensure that cities remain inclusive, resilient and responsive to the needs of their growing populations.
He expressed his commitment to continued engagement and collaboration with the World Bank and other relevant partners towards building cities that work better for everyone.
