Okai Mintah Pledges Stronger Youth Representation In NDC Leadership
Aspiring National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Okai Mintah, has pledged to strengthen youth representation in the party’s decision-making processes, insisting that young people must play a meaningful role in its leadership.
He said the interests, concerns and aspirations of young people would be prioritised if given the mandate to lead the party’s youth wing.
According to him, the youth must not be limited to mobilising support for the NDC but should also have a voice in shaping the party’s policies, direction and leadership decisions.
“The youth must not only mobilise for the party; they must also have a meaningful role in its leadership,” he stated.
Mr Mintah made the remarks following his interaction with participants at the National Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN) Conference, where he engaged young party members on issues concerning their participation and contribution to the NDC.
He expressed appreciation to participants for the warm reception, engaging conversations and opportunity to connect with them.
He said the enthusiasm, ideas and commitment demonstrated by the participants had reinforced his conviction that young people remained central to building and sustaining the party.
Mr Mintah’s message forms part of his campaign to secure the position of National Youth Organiser, with youth participation and representation in party leadership emerging as key themes of his appeal to young NDC members.
