Majority And Minority Leaders Engage Media On Matters Of National Interest

The Majority Leader, James Agalga, and the Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin have engaged the media on recent developments and other matters of national interest, presenting their respective positions on issues before Parliament.

During the engagement, Mr Agalga sought to clarify concerns surrounding recent developments, saying his remarks were intended to set the record straight and provide the public with factual information.

He reaffirmed the Majority’s commitment to transparency, accountability and open debate, stressing that Parliament remained the appropriate forum for discussing issues affecting the country.

The Minority Leader also presented the Minority’s position, offering an alternative perspective on the matters discussed.

The Majority welcomed the exchange, describing debate as an essential part of parliamentary democracy.

It called for the issues to be debated openly on the floor of Parliament, with both sides relying on facts and allowing Ghanaians to assess the arguments.

“Parliament is the home of debate. Let us argue it out with facts on the floor for all Ghanaians to see,” the Majority stated.

It added that the national interest would remain its guiding consideration in parliamentary deliberations.
