Fiifi Boafo Declares Intention To Contest NPP Primary In Tarkwa-Nsuaem

Former Director of Public Affairs at the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Fiifi Boafo, has declared his intention to contest the opposition New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primary in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency of the Western Region.

His decision sets the stage for a possible contest within the party as it prepares to select a parliamentary candidate for the constituency ahead of the next general election.

Reports have also indicated that former Tarkwa-Nsuaem MP George Mireku Duker is considering a return to Parliament after losing the seat to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Salifu Taylor.

If Mr Duker enters the race, he could join Fiifi Boafo and other interested party members in the contest for the NPP parliamentary candidacy.

The developments point to potential competition within the NPP as the party considers its options for reclaiming the Tarkwa-Nsuaem seat.
